3.26.09

Get Outta Town Records and Black Numbers Records are excited to announce that “Carry the Torch: A Tribute to Kid Dynamite” will be formally released July 7, 2009 on CD and July 14, 2009 on vinyl. Featuring 39 bands, covering literally every Kid Dynamite song ever recorded, the CD, double LP and digital release will feature art by Florida artist Matt Cantwell (No Harm Done).  The final product boasts introspectives written by Dan Yemin and Dave Wagenschutz, as well as guest vocals by Yemin on Three’s A Party with No Harm Done.  Birthday songwriter  turned guest vocalist Ernie Parada of Token Entry/Black Train Jack/Grey Area adds another layer to his relationship with the band by covering Benchwarmer, No Trigger adds a pretty spot on k05-0564, and Sakes Alive delivers a gritty version of News At 11.  Three new songs – No Trigger’s k05-0564, This Time Next Year’s 3 O’clock and Sakes Alive’s News at 11 are available to stream at www.myspace.com/kiddynamitetribute where pre-orders of the CD and double LP are available as well. Screen printed posters are included for a limited time with the pre-order of the CD. A limited number of box sets of the all three colors remain as do a couple pieces of the most limited gold version of the vinyl. I had forgotten yesterday to put up that I discounted a ton of items in the webstore including The Geeks “Every Time We Fall” LP and merch, Attitude “We All Go Down Together” LP and merch, all Make or Break merch and tons of other items and package deals. Check it out and please help me make some room for upcoming titles and new Get Outta Town Records merch. Today is the final day for the “Don’t Sleep on These” $5 package of CDs as well.

Get Outta Town Records is up on Twitter and Facebook, so please come add us and be our buddies, friends, or whatever it is called.

Also, please check out this trailer for Sam Raimi’s new movie, Drag Me to Hell. This trailer seriously looks awesome!! If you’re unfamiliar with Sam Raimi, he made the Evil Dead trilogy.

Tons of news!

Let me start by saying that I got to see the Bad Brains on March 5. It was probably the most incredible show I have been to in years. The line-up was Paint it Black, Propagandhi and Bad Brains. All the bands totally killed their sets and the show ruled. Extra huge thanks to Dan Yemin and Paint it Black for always being such nice guys.

Offsides and DEA just got back from a week long tour with The Golden Age (Panic Records) that did a string of south east shows. Thanks so much to everyone that came out, supported the bands, and helped us out with a place to stay or picked up any merch. We had a great time on the tour and got to meet a lot of cool people. We have a little bit of merch made specifically for the tour in the webstore including a tour poster that is only $1 and DEA “Good Guys” + “Demo” CDs and cassettes.

The Make or Break “Discography” CD is available now. I wrote up a huge set of liner notes and am including the tour journal of the last Make or Break tour that we did with Bishop and Barriers Now Bridges. There is also a sticker included for everyone that pre-ordered and if there are any left, the remaining orders that come in first will get what I have left.

The Kid Dynamite Tribute is just about together as far as artwork. The audio portion is finished and I am just waiting on the art coming in so I can send this to press. Thanks again for everyone’s patience and final release dates and whatnot should be up soon.
